Las Vegas Sports Books with the Best Food Options – Off Strip

This is the second in a series: Las Vegas Sports Books with the Best Food Options

There are plenty of food options at Las Vegas sports books and some are certainly better than others. If you decide to hunker down for a day of betting sports or playing the ponies, having some tasty grub nearby is certainly a plus.

Most sports books have a snack bar or a food court in close vicinity, but for a more unique (and tastier) food experience, there are many sports books with great food options nearby. And best of all, you can order to go and enjoy the deliciousness right from your seat at the sports book. Last time, we looked at  Best Sports Book Food on the strip – next up: off-strip.

Off-Strip

Palms – Earl of Sandwich

When people think Earl of Sandwich in Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood always comes to mind. However, The Palms houses a recently opened Earl of Sandwich and the lines at this spot are usually a bit shorter than at the Planet Hollywood location. If you are staying at The Gold Coast or Rio and are looking for a good lunch spot to go along with catching some action at the sports book, The Palms is a short walk away and definitely worth the trip. Their Cantor operated sports book has been completely remodeled and there’s no problem bringing in a sandwich from Earl’s to enjoy while watching the sports action. Earl of Sandwich at The Palms is located at the west end of the casino, only steps away from the sports book.

South Point – Del Mar Deli

The South Point sports book ranks high amongst locals and those looking for an off-strip option as there are separate large spaces dedicated for sports betting and horse racing. To go along with the solid amenities for sports viewing at the South Point is the availability of some great food options directly adjacent to the sports book.

The Del Mar Deli is virtually connected to the sports book and offers up tasty deli style breakfast, lunch, and dinner fare with daily soup and sandwich specials in the $10 range. The Del Mar Deli also offers up some tasty desserts, pastries, bagels, and they’ve got some great New York style pizza by the slice as well. If it’s a burger you crave, Steak N Shake also nearby the sports book, is also a good bet.

Gold Coast – Ping Pang Pong

Ping Pang Pong, which is tucked away near the showroom entrance in the Gold Coast casino area, has won several awards including best Chinese restaurant in Las Vegas. While the Gold Coast has replaced some of their casino restaurant originals (I miss the 24 hr. café, which is now a TGIF’s chain restaurant), Ping Pang Pong continues to go strong with a loyal following amongst locals and visitors who frequent the Gold Coast. Ping Pang Pong is a short stroll from the sports book and taking a to-go order back to the book is a breeze.

The varied fried rice offerings are delicious and the dim sum is some of the best in town. If you’re at the Gold Coast sports book and want something more than wings or a sandwich, grab a to-go order from Ping Pang Pong to enjoy at your seat while watching the game or horse racing – you won’t be disappointed.
