Las Vegas Bowl Game Selection

BYU-Utah Under 50.5
After a two-year hiatus, “The Holy War” resumes Saturday a year sooner than expected when rivals BYU and Utah square off on the opening day of bowl season in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Both teams have suffered key offensive  personnel losses this season _ BYU losing quarterback Taysom Hill early in the season and tailback Jamaal Williams prior to the season and Utah losing tailback Devontae Booker and wide receiver Britain Covey late in the season.

Utah has been dramatically impacted by its losses in recent weeks, scoring below its opponents’ points allowed average by an average of approximately 10 points in its past three games.
The Utes only managed nine points against UCLA and just 20 against defensively-challenged Colorado in its past two outings.
Saturday’s combatants both allow an average of just 5 yards per play to rank in the top 35 in the NCAA in that category. Five of the past seven meetings in this heated series have gone under the total.
I’m forecasting a game in the 40s and recommend playing the under.
