College Football Comp Pick by Paul Stone

Clemson-Louisville Under 58 – Reigning Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson has picked up this season where he left off in 2016, ripping off 1,010 total yards offense in the Cardinals’season-opening wins over Purdue and North Carolina. While he will undoubtedly make some eye catching plays Saturday, Jackson will discover quickly that Clemson’s defense bears little resemblance to the stop units fielded by the Boilermakers and Tar Heels.

With future NFLers Christian Wilkins and Clelin Ferrell wreaking havoc up front, the Tigers arguably possess the top defense in all of college football – not good news for a Louisville offensive line which has allowed no fewer than 41 sacks in each of the past three seasons.
With Clemson leaning heavily on its defense and making Jackson look like a mere mortal, do not expect the Tigers to take many chances on offense as lightly-seasoned junior quarterback Kelly Bryant will be making his first road start.
Play this early season ACC showdown to remain under the total of 58.
