North Texas +7 over Troy – The New Orleans Bowl kicks off the two-weeks plus smorgasbord of college bowl games that only a true fan can fully appreciate.

Sun Belt Conference entry Troy (10-2) clearly enters the contest with a more impressive resume than North Texas highlighted by a late September 24-21 shocker over LSU in Baton Rouge. The Trojans, however, come into Saturday’s game bruised and battered, with five key players expected to miss the bowl game. Among those on the injured list are cornerback Blace Brown, a first-team All-Sun Belt selection who had five interceptions this season. One of his secondary mates, safety Kris Weatherspoon, will also be out against the Mean Green.
Offensively, three receivers, most notably Emanuel Thompson (38-420), are not expected to see action. While Troy already hit its high water mark this season with the LSU victory, North Texas is still searching for its signature win of 2017. Beating Troy in a bowl game would certainly qualify for the Mean Green.
Take North Texas and the 7 points.
