Paul Stone’s College Football Pick of the Week

Baylor -21 over West Virginia  – Baylor’s slate of opponents to this point in the 2015 season is not exactly a who’s who of college football’s upper class. Still, the Bears and first-year starting quarterback Seth Russell have easily disposed of the opposition in convincing fashion, scoring at least 56 points in each game and averaging 64 points an outing. Baylor’s closest contest has been a 63-35 neutral site win over Big XII rival Texas Tech.

Baylor Looks to Continue to Put up Big Offensive Numbers this Week vs. West Virginia

West Virginia is arguably Baylor’s toughest opponent thus far, but the Mountaineers’ defense took a huge hit earlier this month when their heart and soul, all-conference safety Karl Joseph, was lost for the season due to injury.

Art Briles and company have been stellar in the role of home favorite, covering 18 of their past 22 since the start of the 2011 season. Look for Baylor to score in bunches and keep the foot on the gas as it plots its course towards a possible berth in college football’s four-team playoff.
