Las Vegas Sports Book News – Westgate Super Book Update

What is probably the biggest Las Vegas sports book renovation ever undertaken is nearing completion as the first phase the Westgate Super Book upgrades is reaching a finishing point.

As many Las Vegas sports book fans that have recently visited the Westgate already know, the new giant HD screens are now the best in town. In addition to the new screens, there is a new sports book bar that seats over 50 people and has sight lines directly at the new monster HD video screens. The sports book bar replaces the video poker and slot machines that occupied the space at the rear of the sports book.

Also, in line with several of the strip sports books, a new VIP area is also part of the changes. The VIP “boxes” will include charging stations for smart phones and laptops as well as private screens that can show multiple games. The private boxes will be available to VIP players as well as those wanting to rent the spaces.

The Super Book banned cigars last year and as part of the new upgrades, all smoking will be prohibited in the sports book area.

Phase 2 will begin in 2016 and will include renovations to the Super Book Deli area with additional food choices and *Disclaimer – Rumor Only* some type of craft beer set up easily accessible to sports book visitors. Bathroom upgrades, which are sorely needed here – if you’ve used the bathroom near the rear entrance, you know exactly what I’m talking about – are also in the works.
