Fremont Street in Las Vegas to Transform into “Downtown Hoopstown” for March Madness

The resurgence of Fremont Street and Downtown Las Vegas is no longer a secret and many Las Vegas visitors will be introduced to the fun of Fremont Street during March Madness. Fremont Street will be transformed into “Downtown Hoopstown” with March Madness related decorations, events, and the usual free nightly entertainment with a hoops theme.

Also, once the tournament field is announced, the world’s largest March Madness bracket will be featured on the overhead Viva Vision screen. The brackets are updated throughout the tournament and it is really a cool thing to see if you’re a college hoops fan or just a sports fan in general.

Viewing Parties

There are several viewing parties going on downtown including events at The Golden Nugget, The D, and El Cortez. All of the aforementioned are opening up their ballrooms to hold March Madness events, which include multiple screens, food and drink specials, as well as betting stations to get your action in on the basketball games.

Sports Books

It has been long known that The Golden Nugget has the best sports book downtown, however the renovations at The Plaza sports book with William Hill taking over operations is sure to give the Nugget a run for its money. If you find yourself downtown for March Madness, it’s worth checking out the new digs at The Plaza sports book – also a plus is that William Hill generally offers a large selection of future and prop bets with enhanced odds for big events such as March Madness.

Downtown Bars

Fremont Street and downtown in general has a heavy concentration of bars both in and outside of the casinos. As far as March Madness goes, The 777 Microbrewery at Main Street Station is a solid choice with good beer selection, tasty food, and multiple HD screens. The Longbar at The D is also great for sports viewing and The Golden Nugget has no shortage of casino bars with HD screens that will be showing the games. To get a complete look at the bar scene downtown, FremontStreetBars.com has pretty much every spot covered both inside and outside of the casinos and is worth checking out.
