Las Vegas Super Props – There are a ton of ’em!

The number of Super Bowl props available at Las Vegas sports books like the LVH SuperBook, William Hill, MGM, Caesars, and Boyd properties can be dizzying. There are several hundred prop bets made available every year for Super Bowl and this year’s offerings from Las Vegas sports books provide a plethora of scenarios for bets within the game.

I know, I know it’s the English Premier League and what does the average NFL fan know about Liverpool or West Bromwich? Well, I know enough to tell you that Liverpool has been averaging 3 goals per game over the past month and they are cranking on all cylinders after a 4-0 thrashing of a solid Everton squad. West Brom has scored at least one goal in each of its last 7 games and is is also in the bottom half of the league in number of goals allowed. On paper, this soccer match is good for 3-4 goals…..I’ll take -110 on that and hope Peyton Manning tosses one or two TD’s max. I’ll be up nice and early (5:30 am Vegas time) with my cup of coffee at the sports book on Sunday morning to see how this Premier League match plays out.

Russell Wilson is known as a mobile QB, however he is averaging less than 12 yards (11.75 yards to be exact) rushing per game over Seattle’s last 4 contests. He’d have to triple that to go over the total listed here.

The Orleans Sports Book (ESPN Insider) Super Bowl Prop

The Orleans WILL A PLAYER SCORE A TOUCHDOWN WHOSE FIRST NAME BEGINS WITH A LETTER IN O-R-L-E-A-N-S ? Yes +120 No -140

This is the Super Bowl prop that yours truly submitted to Chad Millman of ESPN the Magazine for their Vegas Super Bowl prop contest – to my delight, it was selected the winner. Even though Chad Millman didn’t particularly feel that this was the best submittal (go to minute 12:00 of the podcast), I will shamelessly say that out of the top 3 or 4 others, the above prop will surely get more “action” than the others would have combined. So, back to the actual prop. The players to root for if you go with a “Yes” bet are Erik Decker, Russell Wilson, Andre Caldwell, and Luke Wilson along with a few defensive players. My feeling is that the Super Bowl will have moderate scoring at best, with usual scoring threats Marshawn Lynch, Demaryius Thomas, and Knowshown Moreno being likely to account for TDs during the game.

Since this is my prop, I will pass on taking a side, however I will tweet a photo of my betting ticket from The Orleans sometime on Saturday (the day before Super Bowl).
