Las Vegas Sports Books Working on Prop Bets & Preparing for a Potential Record Breaking Super Bowl Sunday

The Broncos vs Seahawks matchup is set, and with that, Vegas sports books hunker down for one of the busiest periods of the year for sports betting. Last year’s record handle in Nevada of just under $100,000,000 that was bet on Super Bowl 47 will surely be surpassed this year as sports bettors will have a plethora of propositions to wager on in the days leading up to the big game.

And when will those prop bets be available in Vegas you ask? Typically, Vegas sports books begin to release Super Bowl prop bets by the end of this week (Thursday/Friday). The LVH Super Book typically has the most comprehensive prop bet offerings in town, while William Hill sports books also offer up a nice variety of props on the big game. Just about every sports book in Vegas will have a full menu of fun proposition plays for Super Bowl.

Odds & Point Spreads

Back in September, the Broncos were on the board at 9-2 to win Super Bowl 47 while the Seahawks offered a little bit more value at  6-1. Vegas sports books won’t take much of a hit on either of these as there were plenty of future bets on teams like the Patriots, Saints, 49ers, Chiefs, etc. Vegas sports books received a steady flow of futures bets on the Broncos throughout the season.

As for the current line? Well, the point spread moved pretty quickly as sports books adjusted to the money being wagered in the hours after the AFC and NFC Championship games wrapped up. The Seahawks were on the board at -1 at many sports books, however by Monday morning, action on the Broncos moved the line to Denver -2.5.

As of Monday (1/17/14) morning, the point spreads and totals from all major Las Vegas Sports Books (via VegasInsider.com) look like this:

LVH Super Book:  Denver -2  (48)

MGM (Aria, Bellagio, Mirage): Denver -2.5 (48)

William Hill (Plaza, The D, Riviera):  Denver -2.5 (48)

Caesars Palace: Denver -2 (48)

Wynn: Denver -2 (48)

Cantor (Cosmopolitan, Hard Rock):  Denver -2 (48)

Treasure Island: Denver -2 (48)

South Point Denver -2.5  (48)

The Vegas Parlay will have Super Bowl props posted shortly after they are released in Las Vegas later in the week.
