Fan Duel, Draftkings and online daily fantasy sports have been outlawed in Nevada. But now, sports books in Las Vegas and the rest of the Silver State will be getting in on the daily fantasy action as regulators have gotten the ball rolling through the state approval process to allow sports bettors to make daily fantasy bets at casinos.
It would consist of a pari-mutuel process (similar to horse racing) where the sports book will get an automatic cut of the action while bettors lay money on the performance of individual players.
Vic Salerno, a Nevada sports book veteran, is leading the charge to get the legislation approved. Salerno told the Las Vegas Review Journal that sports bettors may have the opportunity to wager on daily fantasy as soon as this August – just in time for football of course. Adding daily fantasy betting to the already loaded sports menu in the Fall will add to the growing craziness on football weekends. A garbage time touchdown may now mean a whole lot more than just a back door cover at Las Vegas sports books.
