College Football Pick by Paul Stone

Georgia-Notre Dame UNDER 57

Georgia travels to South Bend, Ind. Saturday without standout sophomore quarterback Jacob Eason who sustained a knee sprain less than 10 minutes into the Bulldogs’ season opener against Appalachian State.

True freshman Jake Fromm stepped in and posted a steady debut in the Dawgs’ 31-10 victory over the Mountaineers. Eason will miss Saturday’s marquee clash, leaving Fromm, one of the top quarterback recruits in the nation last spring, to take center stage in one of college football’s most historic settings.

The Bulldogs boast one of the nation’s top running games (seniors Nick Chubb and Sony Michel combined for almost 2,000 yards last season and are both considered NFL prospects) and a Top 15 type defense as well. Expect them to lean heavily on both in an effort to shorten the game to a total of approximately 130 plays.

Take this matchup of Top 25 teams to remain under the total of 57.
