College Basketball Plays for 12/9/20

**Boise State +5 at BYU: Boise State’s feisty backcourt should provide enough resistance to keep BYU’s 3-point shooting relatively in check. BYU is transitioning to a more “around the basket” game due to the size of its frontcourt but the Cougars still have work to do in that aspect (BYU’s frontcourt was exposed a couple of weeks back vs USC). Boise State’s Derrick Alston will be the best player on the court but look at red shirt junior guard Marcus Shaver to have an impact for the Broncos as well. I like the road dog here.

**Idaho +11 (first half) at Washington State: The Idaho Vandals make the short bus ride over to Pullman as big underdogs vs a Washington State team that has fared well early on in the season, currently holding a 3-0 straight up record and a 1-2 ATS record. All 3 of Wazzu’s wins have been by tight margins (4,3,4 points) so they tend to play down to their competition a bit. Although I wouldn’t consider this a rivalry by any means – Idaho has a 15-minute bus ride to Pullman and should be up for this game as Washington State is the closest university to them geographically. Underlying turnover and assist numbers favor Idaho as well. Washington State’s depth will get them the win here but I believe Idaho will stay in this one for awhile… and the +11 first half is a good number.
