College Basketball Picks for Saturday 12/19/20

**Gonzaga -4.5 vs Iowa: What a way to kick off the College basketball slate. Iowa is a monster, but, as good as their underlying numbers are in their first 4 games, they are artificially pumped up by 2 games vs directional schools (N Illinois and Western Illinois). Gonzaga is no stranger to hopping on charter flights out of Spokane to travel and face college basketball’s heavyweights….and they usually answer the call. The Gonzaga back court is ridiculous and they compliment experienced forwards Drew Timme and Corey Kispert perfectly. I think the Zags will be just a bit too much for Iowa today.

**Hofstra +11.5 at St Bonaventure: St.Bonaventure looked good in their lone game of the season vs Akron and are poised for a strong season in the A10 Conference. However, I believe the small sample size has lead to a bad spread here. St. Bonaventure will have to score in the low 80-point range to cover this spread vs a Hofstra team that can score. Take the underdog.

**Mississippi at -2 at Dayton: Dayton is looming to become one of the 3-headed monsters of the Atlantic 10 (St.Louis, Richmond) and a win vs Ole Miss could solidify that. Ole Miss is ultra-athletic and play hard for Kermit Davis. Dayton’s underlying numbers do not impress. Ole Miss has covered 7 of their last 9 games vs teams with a winning percentage over .600 and I think Ole Miss will be ready for this road test.
