College Basketball Plays for 1/10/21

**(811)Xavier -3.5 vs Providence: Providence comes into Xavier’s Cintas Center with a sub .500 ATS record on the road. Xavier took early action as their -3 number disappeared quickly with a mix of -3.5 and -4 now posted at most sports books. Xavier’s defensive efficiency numbers are much stronger than Providence’s, who will have trouble stopping 6-9 forward Zach Freemantle on his home court. Xavier should win this and I’m comfortable laying -3.5 here.

**(826) Iowa -9.5 vs Minnesota: Minnesota’s underlying turnover/assist numbers drop precipitously when they are on the road. They are 0-3 ATS away from Minneapolis with all of those games tipping off with the Gophers as underdogs. On the flipside, Iowa presents itself with a strong 7-1 (87.5%) ATS record as a home favorite. Minnesota center Liam Robbins may not be 100% and that’s not a good thing when confronted with Iowa big man Luka Garza. This is a revenge spot for Iowa and a double digit win is likely on their home court.

**(307143)UNC Asheville -2 at Hampton: There is a discrepancy between both team’s underlying offensive numbers with UNC Asheville coming out on top in several categories. A peek at KenPom rankings also reflects this. UNC Asheville should turn the tables in this back-to-back after Hampton beat them by a bucket yesterday (Friday). Lay the small number in this mid-major matchup.
