SMU at North Texas +10.5
North Texas took care of UTEP last week in a game the oddsmakers believed would be a close one – it wasn’t. What was impressive to me was the adjustments the North Texas defense made in the second half to completely stymie UTEP’s offense. Sure, SMU is a different animal and will pose a greater challenge than UTEP did, but the efficient North Texas offense compliments their defense well – the Mean Green should be ready for a good performance in their first home game of 2022 .
Looking further; SMU doesn’t like the fake stuff away from University Park – the Mustangs are 1-8 ATS over the last 3 seasons playing on turf on the road. SMU will visit North Texas on Saturday night and the Mean Green looks to be undervalued as a 10.5-point home underdog. And for the contrarians, SMU is taking nearly 90% of money and tickets respectively.
