College Football Friday Night Selections

Middle Tennessee State -14.5 at UConn

UConn got their season win over Yale last week and the Football Huskies are not winning two in a row. The only question is by how much they will lose and I believe it will be by a substantial margin. Middle Tennessee State’s offense flamed out at Liberty but prior to that game, the offense, under junior QB Chase Cunningham was rolling along. Cunningham, who took over QB duties after week 2, has accounted for himself in a god way with a 12 TD/2INT tag line. Expect the Blue Raiders to control things on both sides of the ball as they’ve had two weeks to think about the beat down they received from Liberty. The Blue Raiders are coming off the bye week vs a UConn team that only musters 4.3 yards per game (#120 in all college football). Lay it.

Colorado State at Utah State ***UNDER 58.5

Utah State and Colorado State have gone under the total in 4 out of their 6 games (66.7%) respectively and it looks like the under is in play again for both this week as the Aggies host. Neither team’s offense is high on the yards per play scale. Over their last 3 games, the Utah State offense has mustered an average of 17 points per game, while Colorado State’s defense ranks #6 in all of college football in yards per game allowed. Utah State’s offensive line is a little beat up and young, so I do not think Utah State will be able to have great success when they have the ball.  I have this game landing in the 51-53 point range so I am very comfortable going under 58.5 here.
