***Pitt -6.5 vs N Carolina
Sure, North Carolina’s offense appears to be firing on all cylinders, but their defense is in disarray. Facing Pitt and Heisman candidate QB Kenny Pickett will bring no relief. Pickett has answered the bell all season, including a strong performance vs Clemson’s elite defense a few weeks back. I see nothing that tells me that UNC’s 91th ranked defense, which includes a very bad 6.5 yards per play allowed over their last 3 games, will do much to stop Pitt’s offensive attack. On the flip side, Pitt’s defense is a solid unit, which is opportunistic and will have a good performance at Heinz Field. Will UNC be in letdown mode after that wild win last week vs Wake Forest? History says yes – since 2019, the Tar Heels are a very bad 6-12 (33%) ATS coming off a win. Lay it with the home favorite here.
