MLB Free Pick Sunday

Braves starter Ian Anderson’s strike out rate headed south last season. The second second half regression last year could very well have been due to shoulder issues. However, the 7.88 ERA and 2.00 WHIP in 8 innings this spring could indicate that Anderson hasn’t come all the way back yet. Also, Anderson is sub .500 in day games for his career.

Atlanta hitters have come out of the blocks a tad slow (only two games I know). We’ll leave the bullpens out of this one – a first five innings play is acceptable on the Reds, with rookie Hunter Green looking to get a possible ROY campaign off to a strong start.

The play: Reds +165 (First 5 innings)
