College Basketball Plays for 12/12/20

**Syracuse -2.5 at Boston College: Boston College Coach Jim Christian wasn’t able to figure out the Syracuse zone defense in both match ups last season as the Orangemen won both games by double digits. BC has played a tough schedule thus far and they get their first home game here, however underlying numbers just haven’t been there for the Eagles and there is a reason they are underdogs, albeit slight ones, at home today. Syracuse gets Buddy Boeheim back and I see the better coached Orangemen creating all kinds of matchup problems for BC – especially in the paint. Lay the small number on Syracuse here.

**Old Dominion +7 at VCU: VCU shot over 62% from the field in their blowout win vs North Carolina A & T – that’s not sustainable. Expect an adjustment to that here, which will be a factor in keeping the game within reach for Old Dominion. VCU can play some defense evidenced by their high number of steals, however Old Dominion has protected the ball very well early on this season. A lot of VCU’s underlying numbers have been artificially pumped with the blowout win vs N Carolina A&T. Old Dominion guard Malik Curry should be the quickest back court player that VCU has faced so far this year and will cause some match up problems for the Rams.
