Week 10 College Football Friday Selection

Utah -9.5 at Stanford

Neither of these teams are ATS juggernauts, however it appears that favorite Utah will have the edge tonight. Utah’s defense is regressing slightly, allowing 5.9 yards per play in their last 3 contests. The main culprit is their defensive scheme which appears to be incorporating a softer pass defense. Generally, this would fall right into Stanford’s strength on offense – the pass; however Stanford’s offense is in disarray with two starting wideouts banged up and capable staring QB Tanner McKee questionable to go. The Utes have struggled on the road with a 1-3 record – their only win away from Utah was at USC but Stanford appears to be their softest away spot – especially with all the injuries on the Cardinal side. Utah enters this game with a 15-5 (75%) ATS record in Pac 12 play since 2019. I wanted to find reasons to back the underdog here, but there is too much pointing to the Utes. Lay it.
