Las Vegas Sports Book News – Betting on “Virtual” Sports on the Way

Interested in betting on “virtual” horse racing? At two Las Vegas sports books, you’ll have the chance to bet on horse races that are pure fantasy.

Every 5 minutes, there will be a virtual horse race for bettors to get action on in the sports book. Win, place, show, exactas and trifectas. Many of the betting offerings available on a real horse race will be available on this new virtual racing that William Hill will test run at the Plaza downtown and the off-strip Silver Sevens casino.

Everything is set up to look and feel like a real horse race. Even legendary east coast race caller Tom Durkin can be heard narrating the virtual horse races.

The two locations are merely trial runs until the Gaming Control Board gives full approval to expand to other locations. If this sticks, who knows? Perhaps betting on virtual boxing matches and other “make believe” events may one day become common place at the sports book.
