Las Vegas Sports Book Report – Things Getting Even Better at The Westgate Super Book

There’s a lot going on at the Westgate Super Book as football season approaches……

Football Central in the Westgate Theater is Back!

On Sunday, September 10, NFL fans in Las Vegas will once again occupy the Westgate Theater  to not only celebrate the kickoff of the 2017 NFL season, but also the return of what is arguably the best spot in Las Vegas to watch the NFL.

Football Central at the Westgate went dark last football season as the weekly Sunday NFL party was moved to the much smaller Cabaret Room. But word is now out that the weekly Football Central event on NFL Sundays will return to the Westgate Theater. Admission will be free along with the usual food/beverage specials, satellite wagering area, and stereo sound. An added twist is that underage guests will now be allowed into the theater when accompanied by an adult.

Many Las Vegas sports book fans are familiar with the Westgate Theater and the Football Central set up. However, if you haven’t had the opportunity to watch the NFL at the Westgate Theater, you’re missing out. It’s a must stop for the football fan. And while in the theater, it’s nice to look around for a moment to take in the history of the space as performers such as Elvis Presley, Liberace, and Barbara Streisand all performed here back in the day. The original king – Elvis left us long ago, however the NFL is king nowadays.

Clubhouse Area Opens at the Super Book

Most Las Vegas sports books, including the Westgate Super Book, have gone smoke free. But there is now an option for those wanting to light up – The Clubhouse. Formerly used as a reserved seating area within the Super Book, the new Clubhouse space allows smoking. What many will appreciate is that it is also cigar friendly, which is an old school amenity that is almost impossible to find at Las Vegas sports books nowadays so get those Cohibas ready.

Poker Room Opening in the Former Fan Cave Space

The Westgate has had different iterations of poker rooms in several areas of the property. The latest, and possibly best, landing spot for the poker room is directly adjacent to the Super Book area in the former “Fan Cave” space.

The Fan Cave screens are still in place so poker players will be able to watch the sports action while deciding what to do with their Ace/King suited. Placing the poker room in this area is a smart move and will undoubtedly attract players year round and especially during busy sports book days.

Super Book Game Area

Just to the left of the recently renovated Food Court will be a new game area that will include pool tables, darts, and other amusements to take your cares and troubles away. It’s a good use for this space that is tucked away to the rear of the Super Book but still maintains great views of the crystal clear giant high definition screens. Not sure if shuffleboard will also be in the mix, but don’t be surprised if a table or two pops up in this revamped area.

There has always been good reasons to check out the largest sports book in the world. Now with even more new additions to the recently revamped Super Book, it’s as fun as ever for both the casual and hard core sports book fan.
