Hand rolls and sake bombs will be taking over the Monte Carlo sports book as a new restaurant concept, related to MGM’s “The Park” project, will be housed in the existing sports book space. It had been rumored for several weeks that the Monte Carlo sports book was going to move and now it appears to be fact as a restaurant called Sake Rok will be taking over the space some time in 2016. If you are familiar with the Monte Carlo sports book, the large square shaped space is an exact fit for the proposed restaurant’s floor plan.
Where will the Monte Carlo sports book go? It appears that it will be headed to a portion, or perhaps integrated to, the existing Pub located along a corridor off of the casino floor. With all of the screens and beers on tap, putting the sports book in the Pub makes sense.
However, here is another sports book that is away from the casino floor, which is not optimal – Tropicana and Cosmopolitan sports books are located away from the casino floor and do not get the foot traffic that could potentially make them a bit livelier. Also, I’m curious to see how free drink tickets will be handled as the Pub is in the business of actually selling the beers it has on tap.
