William Hill has established a foothold on Fremont Street with sports books at The D, Plaza, and the soon-to-be-opening Downtown Grand. Their presence on The Strip, however is still developing as The Riviera is the only spot on Las Vegas Boulevard that William Hill operates a sports book. That will soon change as William Hill recently announced that they will be operating the sports book at the new SLS Hotel/Casino Resort, which is scheduled to open next year.

SLS is investing $300 million into the remodel – the new hotel/casino certainly will inject some life into the north end of the strip. The property used to house the Sahara, which closed a couple of years back (I stayed at The Sahara about 15 years ago and even then it was showing its age). William Hill setting up shop here is a good thing – William Hill consistently offers good odds and their sports book spaces are sleek and comfortable without being gaudy. Their ticket writers are always friendly and helpful as well
