Harrah’s

Harrah’s “Sports Pit”

Seats: Approximately 60 including bar seating.

Screens: Two big screens and over 30 high def TVs throughout.

Known as the “Sports Pit” this recently renovated space is a huge improvement over the former set up. The Harrah’s sports book is located adjacent to the poker room, near the hotel side entrance that leads to Carnival Court, where DJs, live bands, and debauchery usually rule the day (and night).

The Harrah’s sports book is on the smaller side but the size and layout of the screens work well. Seating is comfortable and if you enjoy the added cushion/comfort, there are booth areas to the rear of the sports book that are usually unoccupied and provide a good view of the screens. Drinks are free if you are betting and The Blue Moon on tap is especially cold and refreshing at the adjacent bar – and you don’t have to ask for the orange wedge either, the bartenders are on top of it. Nothing wrong with this smaller sized sports book, but unless you are staying at Harrah’s and you prefer to not take a walk to another property, there are better sports book options (Mirage, Caesars) only a short walk away across Las Vegas Boulevard.

Odds and Ends: The Harrah’s sports book contains poker and craps tables if you get the urge to try your luck at table games during half time….but if you’re like a lot of the sports book crowd, looking for a horse race to throw a few bucks on is always advisable over craps or black jack.
