Known as the “Sports Pit” the sports book space at Harrah’s is actually a fun place to catch a game and have a cold one. It is generally not as jam packed as the mega sports books across the street (Caesars and Mirage) although the quality and number of screens is toned down compared to other Vegas sports books.
The connected bar is lively and the staff here is always friendly. There’s video poker available for those that want to chase a Royal while keeping tabs on your ballgame and there are a ton of screens behind the bar to do so. The sports book housed black jack and craps tables in an open area at the entrance to the space, but those have gone away.
Free drinks are pretty easy to come by as long as you ask for them when you place a wager – you can take the free drink tickets to the adjacent bar. Tipping certainly helps loosen up the ticket writers as far as drink tickets go.
If you find yourself at one of the large sports books mid strip (Caesars, Mirage, Bellagio) and find that it’s standing room only, walking over to Harrah’s can be a good, albeit mellower, option.
