Angels +132 at Astros
Angels starter Michael Lorenzen pitched well in his debut vs the Marlins, however the lineup he will face today in Houston is a different animal. Lorenzen has had success vs some Astros batters but it all comes in a small sample size.
Astros starter Luis Garcia is a good pitcher – Angels batters have hit Garcia however, with multiple Angels hitters taking Garcia deep in multiple occasions. While Astros hitters do not have much familiarity with Lorenzen, Angels hitters have seen Garcia plenty.
One last, yet very important, note to consider is that the early money has been strong on Houston. As of this writing, 85% of tickets and 71% of the money has landed on the Astros. Yet, the Angels, who opened at +140, are now in the +130 range depending on your sports book. It’s a curious money line move. Having Trout in the lineup (he was hit by a pitch yesterday vs the Rangers) will help of course, but several other Angels batters have handled Garcia.
