Braves at Padres (-110) Padres lefty MacKenzie Gore makes his pro debut vs Atlanta this evening at Petco Park. It’s a tough way to kick off your pro career but Gore may be catching the Braves at a time where their bats are still working their way into regular season mode. Atlanta hitters are in the bottom half of MLB in batting average and I don’t think this is a good spot for them on the road vs a lefty pitcher that no batter in the Braves lineup has seen. Back to Gore – he struck out 16 batters in 12 innings in the spring while only issuing 3 walks. He was dominant in his only start in AAA last week as well. The days where teams strolled into San Diego to easily pick up a couple of wins are long gone and the line reflects that.
