Buffalo -3.5 over Eastern Michigan – For the second straight season, MAC middle feeder Eastern Michigan Eagles defeated a Big 10 opponent last weekend – this time taking out Purdue, 20-19, on a final second field goal.
The Eagles prevailed despite being gashed for 341 yards rushing (8.1 yards per carry) by the Boilermakers who fell to 0-2 on the young season.
Now Eastern Michigan must travel to Buffalo for both teams’ MAC opener.
Saturday represents the second leg of three consecutive road games for Eastern Michigan which treks across the country next week to face San Diego State.
Like Eastern Michigan, Buffalo enters with a 2-0 mark on the heels of a 36-29 road victory over Temple as a 6-point underdog.
Buffalo quarterback Tyree Jackson, who at 6-7 is perhaps the tallest signal caller in the FBS, and wide receiver Anthony Johnson form one of the top pitch-and-catch combinations in all of college football.
Johnson had 76 receptions for 1,356 yards and 14 TDs last season.
This weekend’s situation favors Buffalo and I believe the Bulls are the better team.
Take Buffalo and lay the 3.5 points.
