MLB Play of the Day: Mariners at Padres

Mariners (+100) at Padres (-110) 1:10 PM (Petco Park)

Seattle hitters have been striking out at a high clip over the past 14 days. Also, with a .224 batting average in day games – good for 4th worst in all of MLB – Mariners bats are likely to be kept in check today by Padres starter Michael Wacha. Wacha, who has allowed 3 runs or less over his last 7 starts, is also boasting a WHIP of 0.88 over the past month. He should be fully cranked today to give a good performance vs. the Mariners in this matinee get-away game. Mariners starter George Kirby is having a fine season, but the danger with Kirby is his low strike-out/pitch to contact approach, which is not what you always want facing an aggressive hitting line up. This is a good spot to back the home team.

Play: Padres -110
