Twins starter Joe Ryan had a rough go of it last week as he was lit up by the Braves. After a 5-home run barrage, Ryan was pulled after only 3 innings. I’ll give him a mulligan though – Ryan was coming off a 112 pitch effort the start before and today he gets class relief as he faces a Royals lineup that has the lowest OPS of any MLB team over the last 30 days. Joe Ryan has been solid at Target Field too, he is 5-2 with a 2.70 ERA and 0.79 WHIP in just under 50 innings pitched this season at home. Royals starter Austin Cox could (could) present some issues for Twins hitters. Minnesota has the second worse batting average (.218) vs lefty pitchers in all MLB. The total of 9 runs works for an under play at Target Field today.
