Brewers at Phillies 3:40 pm Pacific
Brewers hitters have been struggling vs lefties lately. The Brew Crew will face a strong lefty in Phillies starter Christopher Sanchez today. Sanchez is showing strong command gains over the last 30 days – he simply doesn’t give up walks while striking out just under one batter per inning. His WHIP, which is under 1.00, is also encouraging. Phillies hitters have picked it up lately as they sit in the top-10 for team batting average over the last month. Their lefty bats (Harper, Schwarber, etc.) should give Brewers starter Colin Rea some trouble today. Rea has been very average thus far and his 4.70 ERA is fully supported by mediocre underlying numbers.
