A Vegas Casino is Closing but the Sports Book Will Stay

The Westin Las Vegas, located a tad off of the Vegas strip, will be shutting down its casino operation and replace the space with a restaurant. The Westin Las Vegas is the former location of the Maxim Hotel and Casino – the spot where Pauly Shore spent time at during an episode of MTV’s Totally Pauly 20 years ago. He mistakenly reserved a room at The Maxim instead of the Mirage…..but I digress.

The William Hill sports book operation will remain however, as well as some table top video poker. With over 800 rooms, it’s still a convenient place to bet on sports – for guests of the hotel at least.

It’s nice to see that even though some casinos are going away or contracting, sports books and in some cases, sports betting kiosks are sticking around regardless.
