The Alabama Crimson Tide football team has been the favorite on the betting line at Las Vegas sports books for all of their games dating back to December of 2009. That’s over 50 games of Alabama “minus the points” since they were a 6-point underdog in the 2009 SEC Championship vs. Florida.
That streak is in no danger this week as Chattanooga rolls into Tuscaloosa, which will likely be a tune-up for the Crimson Tide prior to their Iron Bowl matchup against Auburn. Alabama recently broke the record for consecutive games as favorite, previously held by USC when they were the chalk for a 50-game run between 2003-2007. Alabama’s Against-the Spread (ATS) record this year is not as impressive (6-4) as their streak but you still turn out a small profit if you have been laying points on Alabama every week.
The Crimson Tide is also favored in Vegas to win the BCS National Championship, currently sitting at 4/5. Even at that small number, Vegas sports books continue to get heavy action on Nick Saban’s crew.
