A 48,000 square foot retail center is being constructed on the Las Vegas Strip in front of Treasure Island (aka TI) so bye-bye free Sirens Show and hello CVS Pharmacy. The construction, which will also include shops and restaurants once completed, has displaced the TI sports book, which has relocated to the poker room across from the old sports book space.
Interestingly enough, you’ll have to walk through a portion of Little Richie’s Chicago Hot Dogs to enter the temporary sports book, which has some flat screens and betting stations set up for horse racing and sports bettors. The bright side is there’s now some sports book food only a few steps away – not that Little Richie’s was that far from the original sports book space anyway.
TI has already announced a free March Madness party in their ballroom, where multiple betting stations will be set up. So even with the temporary sports book downsizing, betting during one of the busiest periods of the year for sports books should not be a problem. The new and improved TI sports book will reopen in the summer – hopefully, with new screens. With that, let’s hope that the loose drink ticket policy at the TI sports book stays that way.
